Thanks mate but your images do not show the spot I ment.

issue #40:
The supports of upper false deck (58) are supposed to contact the lower false deck (57).
But they don't. There is a gap of 5mm.
The slots in the stern planking are in the correct place (see third image below).
If I want part 57 to touch part 58, I have to lift it up.

Is this a problem?

The lower false deck (57) is supposed to be glued to the gallery supports below,
so should I ignore the gap below the upper false deck supports (59).

I can't see what went wrong here.

Any ideas ?

you are right (do you have eagles eyes ??)
Rib 30 is too high in all means. I never really paid attention to this because in some issue the magazine said that all ribs will be sanded down to the planks later.



Do you think it would be enough if I cut off the decks supports and glue them 5 mm lower, or sand them down that much? And the false upper gallery deck as well ? Chopping off the entire rib would be a massive task....

Hi Timm!

Tomick is right about the deck beam support brackets you will need to reduce the height to match the other brackets. You can sand them down or remove them at the point they meet the vertical part of the rib with (a razor saw or small hacksaw) then glue them to the correct height.

As for the centre span the upper gun deck planks would normally go on top of this if you don't what to remove this centre area and don't mind a step in the deck at this point, you could remove the two lugs from the false deck part 58 that would normally go into the slots of rib 30, so that it fits behind the centre span 5mm lower than normal, on the other side of rid 30 you can fit a plank 5mm lower than the top of the centre snap from one side to the other, so that the upper deck planks will fit onto that instead of rib 30.

Or you can always cut the centre span of rib 30 to the correct height and cut the slots it is up to you Timm, don't worry about the top of rib 30 as this will be reduced when you fit the last 2 planks for the poop deck bulwarks and cut them too shape.
