Hi there
Just quick question to Admin or Tommick. Do you know when are we painting hull? I know that there are some details to put on but it would be nice to know.

Thanks

Can anyone give me some advice on spray painting/airbrushing? Never done it before.

I will be painting the bottom of the hull rather than tiling and have purchased all the necessary admirality paints already. I'm not really sure how good of a painter I am since this is the first time I've done anything like this so I want to get as smooth a finish as possible.

Tomick - how to you get such a smooth copper finish at the bottom of your boats hull?

Many thanks

Airbrushing is much more difficult than hand brushing. you could go for aerosol but I would recommend...

Hand paint. Mix paint thouraly, if you feel necesarry thin the paint a little to ensure it is not to thick. Admiralty paint is water based so you will need an appropriate thinner. You will probably need to apply 3 coats or so. If you have uneven coverage after paint has dried ( you can sometimes get a matt and gloss look depending on how well paint was mixed and dried) you can always give the hull a coat of varnish to even the shine. There are semi gloss varnishes that would look good.
