I then removed the fairing again and continued to grind out the slots that will form the diesel engine air intakes.

Because I had filed a lot of the height away, I had to make this up difference so the inlets would be level with the top of the fairing again.

I used a section of 2.5mm square strip for this job, checking the level against the remainder of the fairing.

That concludes this weeks update. As I write I have on order some fine steel mesh from The Mesh Company to top these intakes and will cover the fitting next week before moving on to more 'cutting and shutting' of the conning tower.
