Hello there, I have discovered today something very bad for my project. As you can see from the pictures there is a problem with the big hole on the dome, the one for the camera. I have received with issue 51 the dome and as you can see it is the wrong dome. From the official buid the hole must be in different position as it is not on my Dome. Wrong hole from the factory perhaps. Please help. This is the oficial right version of the hole Nicholas File Attachment(s): nsotiriou attached the following image(s):

Kind regards Darin

Just to be clear, OP's camera hole in the dome extends left until the left-hand edge is almost aligned with the two-display panel.
The correct dome has this left-hand edge about halfway along the smaller, non-display, blue panel underneath it (the one in between the circular hole-cut panel and the two-display panel).
Sometimes I find it hard to spot the actual problem, so I thought this might help :-)

oh wow, this isn't great. before you get carried away stripping everything, i would slide the lens cover in place and see how it looks. if it covers the gap, and the camera mounting position looks good then everything should be ok. its difficult to tell if the cut out is in the wrong place, or just been cut a bit too big. Looking at the two pictures, it seems the hole is cut too far to the left; it looks the same size though, based on where the right-hand edge aligns. Wrong DomeRight Dome

Yes and that’s why it is impossible to put the blue eye correctly. The inner section of the Dome is ok.

Wrong DomeRight Dome i saw that, but the spacing on the opposite corner to the projector hole looks the same, which made me wonder if it was just the hole cut too big? as i mention, try fitting the eye cover. if its bad then deffo you need a replacement dome. if its ok, and hidden then just go with it. it looks like we fill the space with some foam strips in the future anyway. at the end of the day, the eye piece connects to the inner framework, so if thats ok, then there shouldnt be too much of a problem if the part covers the hole. In stage 10 you get the 'Camera Lens Mount' that has slots in it that marry up with the slots in the dome frame, you can see the lower slot in the pictures. The lens mount can only travel from right to left when fitted to the dome until it locks in place. The cut out in Nicholas's Dome is too far to the left so there will be a gap on the left side when it locks in place. Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

fair enough. just thought id put it out there to try, if it saves ordering a replacement and stripping whats already built. never mind. Hi, I contact C/S and they agree to send me a new one. I hope that the only one with the problem was mine and not a piece of a late production with this mistake. I will wait to see the replacement and I will post to you all, because if there is a massive problem with the last production the problem will be very serious. People with the dome all ready have check this little detail before is to late, before you place the small blue panels. Imagine if the last shipment from the builders factory have this problem, how difficult will be for Model - Space. Someone have to inform to stop sending out the wrong dome until it is checked to be the right one. This message is useful to arpurchase which he was very polite and clever to identify the problem directly. Thank you.

A random stock check has already been made and none found to have the same problem. Also, there has not been any similar complaint within the UK or anywhere else in the world. Therefore at this point we can only assume that this happening is a one-off rogue dome and the manufacturer made aware of this. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
