Hello All, Can I have your advise regarding Issue 102, rigging the main topgallant staysail. Page 13 in the original magazine, page 449 in the downloadable PDF guide, Step 5 Thread A and B should be fed through the top hole of the bracket on the fore topmast. But should they go through the same hole on the same side bracket (right) or one (e.g. 'A') on the right and the other (e.g. 'B') on the left side bracket? The photo in the magazine not clear enough to see and the text doesn't go to this detail. Thanks in advance. gingerale75 attached the following image(s): Happy building! Your assessment is correct. The lines go A and B go through the bracket either side. This keeps the lines separate, helps prevent lines becoming snarled and makes them easy for the crew to identify.....
Hope this helps...
Regards
Alan

Hi Alan, Thanks for your reply, however it generates another question regarding Step 6. It says tie both thread (A & B) to the same belaying pin (3rd from right) but if, let’s say, ‘A’ goes on the left side of the mast, then shouldn’t it be tied to the mirrored pin (3rd from left)? Otherwise it crosses from left to right on some awkward way... Or? Happy building! Laszlo Finished builds: HMS Victory, HMS Victory Cross-Section

What I see when looking closely at the pic is line A going through the bracket to the right, line B through the bracket to the left but both lines come out the other side and go down the right side to the rear of the crosstrees then down to the belay pin... Regards Alan
