The Heller 1/24 Citroen van. I fancied something different. This is actually an idea from a similar build I saw done somewhere a while back. The Guinness decals are available on-line and as my wife and I had a city break in Dublin early this year where we visited the Guinness factory, it seems appropriate. Just a small bit done... Front cradle built and main engine parts assembled. A bit of dirt, rust and oil added as I want to build this one really grubby and quite rusty... Roy. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Many thanks chaps. Yes, something quite different for me. It makes a nice change from sports and racing cars, and bigger scales. This thing is actually quite small at 1/24. I'm adding a few little details to the engine such as ignition leads, hose clips, weathering and more as it progresses. Fiddly fun though. Remember, the squares on the cutting mat are 1 cm..... Absolutely Ken! Good fun though. Been busy the past few days so not a lot done. Air filter added, radiator fitted and made suitably rusty, hose clips added using ally foil. Remember, this is going to be a grubby old van. Roy. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Thanks chaps. I'm fiddling around with the body parts now and I have to say, this kit is DREADFUL. It's a new tooling from Heller but I think the designers were either drunk, in a hurry, or just couldn't care less. Many parts fit where they touch, and I've never, ever, had a kit with so many warped and bent parts. The lid on it all though has to be the instructions... Almost hilarious. Illustrations that show parts being fitted upside down, countless wrong part numbers and parts that are just plain incorrect. However, plodding on with it. Hopefully it will make a nice little model in the end. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Not good considering Heller is a French company, you would have thought this iconic French van would have been a flag flyer for them....

Now that is something different Roy. Love that Guiness livery, so unusual and i would never have thought it would appear on such a vehicle. Not sure (with my zero knowledge of vehicles) if this is the same van as that ebbro version turned out as a mobile cafe. Its such an odd looking thing with that corrugated finish. You will have something really nice when you finish up the livery. Happy Modelling

I can see you're knocking it into shape, let's face it with your skills if half the bits were missing and the other half were from a different kit you would still have it looking exactly like it should. Ken's the name modeling's the game.
