Yep I`d ring C/S and have your subscriber info to hand and make a note of the persons name who you speak to for future reference.

I'm having the same problem. It works well as a torch though.
I rang c/s a couple of times and was told the issue is out of stock but they can't give a timescale for when it'll be available. It's a little frustrating knowing you're paying so much for this build and now I'm stuck for getting the head completed until that part eventually arrives.

It's now coming up to 3 months since I first contacted C/S about the projector, issue 27, not working. So far I believe I've rang them 7 or 8 times and each time get the stock answer, that issue is currently unavailable and they don't know when it'll be back in stock. I've dealt with C/S from various partworks in the past and if there's parts missing or don't work, they are replaced or sent out within a week or two. To say I'm disappointed with the way things are handled, or not handled, is a great understatement.

A lot of the problem lies with the amount of back issues being purchased, some individuals are buying 4-6 copies of various issues which is a huge draw down of stock and the lead time for replenishment can be 8-12 weeks.

Send me a PM with your subscriber and name/address details and will see what I can do to search one out for you.

24th of October and still being told by C/S that issue 27 is out of stock. I first contacted them in June about the faulty projector and was told they were expecting delivery of replacement issues of part 27 soon. I received parts 89 90 91 & 93 this month but still no 27. I'm at a loss now as to how to remedy this so I can complete the build other than to fit a faulty part. Is anyone else as frustrated as I am with C/S and their constant excuses.

I hear your frustration and have tried myself to try and locate a copy for you but to no avail. If they don’t have stock then they don’t have stock, but it will be sent just as soon as more stock arrives. The situation is exacerbated by individuals buying numerous copies to sell on such as eBay etc which creates an impossible task to maintain 100% stock all of the time.

After months of being told part 27 was out of stock and having no idea when new stock would arrive, I decided to try my newsagent and asked if they could try to order it for me. I wasn't holding much hope it would work but thought it might be worth a try. I called in yesterday to collect the latest part of the Build the Routemaster collection and to my surprise they had managed, within one week, to order and receive my R2D2 part 27. Got it home, tried the projector and fitted it to the dome, everything is working now. I am at a loss as to how I kept being told no stock by C/S and yet managed to get it through the newsagent at no extra cost.

Newsagent retail stock holding differs to that of central warehouse stock and could well be that the newsagent supplier had a few copies of 27. As a normal rule, most newsagents won't request copies for a title that has not been an ongoing order.
