Hi personally I'd not use it as it may eat away at the plastic and destroy the engine ,cheers mick.  Builds hms victory, suzuki gsx 1300 R hayabusa, honda C B 750, lamborghini countach L P 500 S, tamiya 1/16 rc full option tiger 1 tank,

I used a product called Modelstrip which is safe to use on plastic - it is a paste and you put the parts in a sealed bag overnight before washing off with water. I seem to remember that I sprayed the whole block satin black and then masked the area around the copper core plugs using masking tape punched out using an ordinary paper punch. Effect was much better than hand-painting the copper.
When you get to attaching the wheels to the hub, there is an important tip which I would like to share with anyone who is at an early stage like yourself.

I found the screws which hold on the wheels were very hard to tighten and, when it came to removing them, the thread had disappeared and the screws were too slack to tighten again! Solution: bought a set of 6BA taps and screws to create a proper thread and now the wheels can be taken off and put back on easily.

Hi good idea ,when I put screws in metal to cut thread I always put drop of oil in hole first ,this helps when cutting the thread ,so it don't tear due to dry cutting ,cut it slowly 2 turns forward one back ,I find this prevents thread stripping and leaves a nice thread in holes ,I have metric taps anyway ,cheers mick . Your solution makes sense - coming from a largely plastic kit background, I have not encountered this problem before! Pity DeAg don't recommend your method in the instructions!

Hi got few more issues of this now, so gone back a bit, took door apart and covered it suede leather, just like the look of suede, to normal leather, probably never done on a real one, so just personal preference. The door on the right done and the left as supplied.
