I have seen on other builds that to get the wires in to the center thruster they have cut the main support rod short and made a support out of mdf. To me this takes up space so I got the dremel out and cut a slot in the rod that allows the wires to go through, saves space and weight and allows the support rod to do its job.
I have also now glued the back half of the spine to the propulsion unit and made up the stands.BigGrin Cool

The back of the command sphere is now finished, I am now waiting on delivery of some extra detailing parts before I can make a start on the flight deck and pod bay. In the mean time I will be starting on the wires for the thruster lighting.BigGrin

Postie delivered some goodies today, full decal sets for the pod bay and flight deck, and a resin detail up set! Many thanks to our very own Darbyvet (Carl) for the highly detailed 3d printed parts, they are amazing! Just need some extra lighting and fibre optics.Love Drool BigGrin

A soldering we go!BigGrin Led's are now soldered with resistors and heat shrink used on the positive sides. Fitted into the thrusters which have been fitted also. When I am 100 percent happy the led's will be secured in the correct place with a hot glue gun and then the grills will be fitted.

A little bit of painting today. White primed the interior parts for the cockpit and black primed the inside of the command sphere and the outside of the thrusters for light blocking, the led's show through this plastic quite heavily!Blink BigGrin I have also fitted the pe outer airlock door and controls to the command sphere.

I have removed all the parts from the p.e sheet and prepped them ready for the decals, coat of white and a coat of klear. The rest of the resin parts are now in white primer. I also made up a decal for the plaque, I refuse to even entertain painting it regardless of how good I think my painting skills are!!LOL LOL Cool
