BigGrin Heres one thats something different Revell do a 'Light + Sound Tornado IDS Diorama' kit in 1/72 scale. Its silly money on Amazon at £100 plus but fleabay has three the cheapest has a bidding start of £25 + postage. There are lots of replacment aftermarket decal sets out there to make this a UK version too. Could be a game changer for anyone thinking of a late entrance to the compDrool Drool Drool Drool

Some cheap kits out there if anyone still wants to enter.

This kit is here for under a Fiver, great for a bit of modding:

See how the Tornado faired against the top US Navy F-14's & FA-18's, and repeatedly came out on top

During Desert Storm, the Tornado GR1 spearheaded the RAF attacks on targets in Iraq. It flew more than 1,500 operational sorties, yet suffered only six losses in combat. Of these losses, 5 airmen were killed and seven taken prisoner.

'Tornado Down' is the factual account of two such airmen, shot down in January 1991.

RAF Flight lieutenants John Peters and John Nichol were shot down over enemy territory on their first airbourne mission of the Gulf War. Their capture in the desert, half a mile from their blazing Tornado bomber, began a nightmare seven-week ordeal of torture and interrogation which brought both men close to death.
In Tornado Down, John Peters and John Nichol tell the incredible story of their part in the Gulf War. It is a brave and shocking and totally honest account - a story about war and its effects on the hearts and minds of men.

In recognition of the achievements of both the plane and it's crew and to encourage additional Gulf War Tornado build entries, there will be an additional prize for the Winner of the Gulf War Tornado category in the Last Year of the Panavia Tornado competition - a copy of the Tornado Down book!

It's a cracking read, so get those Gulf War Tornado entries in!'

There is an online doc about this story:
