My next project... I'll be fitting this one in between a few other things I also have on the go. I aim to add a lot of extras to this one. Roy. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

This one has been in my stash for about 8 years. It's been peeping at me constantly so I decided to give in... Trouble is, it's such a flippin' big box! roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Thanks for looking in guys. I've made a small start and so far, I can tell it's an old kit. OK, It's Tamiya but there's quite a bit of very fine flash around almost every part which needs to be removed as the parts won't go together properly otherwise. A bit time consuming. However, also in Tamiya fashion - once the parts are cleaned up they fit together very well. I've Googled tons of reference pics for this and so far, it appears that most Chevy-engined T70's had a black block and head, gunmetal diff and black transmission case. That's what I'm going with. No additions as yet as it's still all fairly basic stuff at the moment. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

I have had this kit since first issued. I'm following this build with much interest. Have you chosen a livery yet? I see you have chosen the Chevy engine. Good luck. Carl Growing old is mandatory, Growing up is optional.

I'm going to stick with the kit parts but it does mean changing the livery as it's wrong in blue/white.
There is a LOT of missing stuff in the engine area so I'll be adding a good deal of that - as well as the in the interior and at the front...
Roy.

Apologies for the delay - lots going on... The engine has moved forward. Lots of fresh paint and metal foil. The ignition leads are on, with shrink-tube as cable ties. Wiring added to the starter motor. Exhausts in place with a touch of grubby, and now starting on the front suspension. Nothing really untoward yet. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

All looking very nice Roy and some nice additions to the engine build already. This is a kit that I always wanted to buy but never did get around to, so I will definitely be following your build of this gorgeous race car.

Thanks Kev. I'm not sure if this kit is still in Tamiya's list. This one is the reissue with etch parts from about 7-8 years ago.

Many thanks chaps. I've built up a few more parts for the front end - still no additions yet. Also, filled umpteen pin marks in the main tub and sanded them down. Some grey primer and a mist of ally silver. I've also added a good few rivet lines following some nice Google pics of the real car. The tub will be foiled over with matt ally BMF (when it arrives) which hopefully will look better than just painting it. roymattblack attached the following image(s):
