Regards Alan Hi Alan Thanks for the compliment and I must agree with you the end result is very pleasing for me. There were several errors and a couple of mishaps along the way, but the errors were all corrected following extensive use of your excellent diary... The mishaps were not possible to rectify so I was obliged to work around them. Bet you can't see them ( but I know they are there! )... Best wishes John

Hi Everyone.... A Happy New Year to All... Here's my latest update for Jan 2019. Issues 121 and 122 refer. * Bowsprit and associated parts installed. Ratlines were done off the model as it was easier... * Mainstays installed. * Crates and cannon balls installed on fore-deck. ( There seems to be no provision for cannon balls on the quarter decks. Can any one enlighten me?... Happy building to All Regards JohnP John Passmore attached the following image(s):

Lovely work as usual John, looks superb.... As for you cannon ball query. You should have received around 90 cannon balls with issue 46 and a further 55 with issue 53, around 145 in total. You make up 8 racks for the main deck and a further 6 racks for the foredeck, 14 racks in total. That should give you 10 cannon balls to fill each rack. Hope this helps. Regards Alan

My query is that there seems to be no cannon balls on either Quarter deck, despite there being lots of cannons parked thereon!... I wonder if this is an oversight or omission by DeAgostini... Regards JohnP

Regards JohnP Hi John, I can confirm there are no cannon ball racks on either Quarter Deck and think you'll find space is rather tight to fit any. You can of course make up and fit racks in these areas if you so wish however, it is not something I did. Regards Alan

Yes, the lower Quarter Deck is a bit crowded, but the upper Quarter Deck has a little more space and I do have some cannon balls left over. So, after mulling things over, I will make up a few racks and put them there... Regards JohnP
