Stage 6 Contents: Left front door interior, Left front door interior trim, Screws (BP03) and (BD03)

The Left Front Door Interior

Fit the left front door interior trim to the inside of the left front door interior by placing the holes over the posts, secure the trim with two BP03 screws checking that both pieces are flush.

Retrieve the door assembly from Stage 5 and fit the door interior onto it by placing the posts into the corresponding holes in the interior. Ensure that the pin fits into the hole in the door, being especially careful of the pin and then secure the interior to the door with four BD03 screws.

Stage complete, carefully store any remaining parts in a stage labelled bag.

Stage 7 Contents: Right front tyre and Right front wheel.

Insert the wheel into the tyre following the instructions given previously for softening the tyre. Lift the wall of the tyre over the edge of the wheel, then turn the two around and repeat on the other side. Check that the edges of the tyre are positioned correctly on both sides of the wheel, pressing down on the tyre lightly and roll the wheel back and forth to ensure that they are evenly centred.

Stage 9 Contents: Brake, Brake drum, Hub, Hubcap and Screws (BD01)

Fit the brake drum to the inside of the wheel from stage 7 by placing it onto the pins. Note that the pins are different sizes, so the drum will fit only one way round. Press the drum flush against the wheel.

Now fit the brake and the hub flush together then insert the shaft of the hub into the hole in the centre of the drum and wheel. Secure the parts together with a BD01 screw. Now hold the hub with one hand and check that the wheel can turn freely. Loosen the screw slightly if it can’t.

Place the hubcap on the outside of the wheel. The hubcap is held in place by a magnet.

Stage 10 Contents: Right front door, Hinge, Handle, Pin, Bracket, Rod, Spring, Rod guide and Screws (BD03).

Place the hinge onto its mounting point on the inside of the right front door and secure it with two BD03 screws.

Insert the handle through the opening in the door and temporarily secure it with some low tack masking tape. Insert the pin through the part of the handle on the inside of the door. Now place the bracket onto the pin and the post on the inside of the door and secure the bracket with a BD03 screw.

Next insert the rod into the spring and insert the free end of the rod through the opening in the handle, then mount the rod guide onto the posts on each side of the rod and secure it with two BD03 screws. Note that the spring should be pulled back so that it is outside of the guide.

Stage 11 Contents: Right front door window frame, Trim, Upper door hinge, Screws (BD03) and (BP03).

Align the holes of the upper door hinge with those in the right front door window frame and secure the hinge to the frame with two BP03 screws. Fit the trim into the groove along the outside of the frame by aligning the pins and corresponding holes and carefully press the trim into place.

Retrieve the right front door from Stage 10 and place the holes at the bottom of the window frame onto the posts at the top of the door then secure the window frame to the door with four BD03 screws.

The windows of the model are fully functional: the side window can slide forwards and backwards and the quarter light pivots as on the actual vehicle.

Stage 13 Contents: Right front seat, Right front seat base and Screws (BP03).

Retrieve the right front seat back parts supplied with Stage 8 and align the posts of the seat back with the holes in the panel. When pressing the two parts together check that the two parts are flush with each other.

Align the holes in the corners of the right front seat base with the corresponding posts in the corners of the right front seat and press the two parts together until the base is inside the seat. Now secure the two parts together with four BP03 screws.

Finally place the ends of the seat back brackets into the openings in the seat base, aligning the holes of both. Secure the brackets to the base with two BP03 screws.

Stage 14 Contents: Left front door trim top panel, Left front door trim middle panel, Left front door trim lower panel, Handle and screws (BP03).

Fit the handle into the hole along the top edge of the left front door trim middle panel, noting that the handle can only fit in one position. Secure it from the other side of the panel with a BP03 screw.

Retrieve the left front door from stage 6 and align the tab at either end of the middle panel with the corresponding slot at each end of the door. Press the middle panel into place so the panel is flush against the door.

Now align the tabs at the ends of the top panel with the holes in the door and press the panel into place until flush. Then align the tabs at the ends of the lower panel with the corresponding holes in the door and press the lower panel into place.


Pack 2 is now complete, carefully store any remaining parts in a stage labelled bag.
