Well mate i know what you mean about the glue fumes, ive been sitting in that room most of the morning and had to have the window right open, only troubly is its a we bit windy up here on the 10th floor.
Well a short break now then back to the deck beams, im almost halfway done with them so ith any luck ill be able to start the planking tomorrow.

Looking good Foz. Going back to the cannon balls, I coated them with a layer of clear varnish after the initial fixing, just to make sure they are held tight. happy b uilding. TIS

Well then Have finaly finished the quarter deck planking so here is what she is like before i stained it. And after. Allthough i used the same satin as on the upper gun deck it seems to look a bit darker. But i can live with it. Regards Foz

Excellent work! Quick question: how do you apply the stain so neatly? Whenever I try (using the Admiralty Walnut wood stain), it always comes out a bit hit and miss.

Amipl
I just use cheap wood stain from Wicos, trhere own brand and use a normal paint brush, but just use it along the same way as the planks laid.
Hope this helps
