Hi all
The kit arrived today so on with the review.
The box art is a painting of the Churchill with the Fascine carrier frame shown and after droping the fascine into a shell hole or trench. Note when carrying a fascine the turret mortar was set at right angles to the front of the tank. The fascine itself was usually droped pretty pronto in any available hole as it oscured the drivers vision and prevented the use of the turret mounted mortar.
On opening the sturdy box its full of green sprue's all nicely moulded and with plenty of detail. The turret moulding has the slightly lumpy look of a sand cast one piece casting along with the matching turret ring.
The rest of the plastic parts are very nicely cast and beware of the carpet gremlins as some parts are very small. Metal springs are included to build the working suspension on the tank along with two small pieces of etch and some thread for the fascine holding wires. The tracks provided are the vinyl type and will be replaced with fruil tracks.
On top of the instuctions is a print of the box art without writing for you frame if you wish. The instructions are of the exploded type and clear to follow. The decals give four different versions of D-Day tanks.
A very nice kit that will build into a highly detailed model with the added bonus of a working suspension for mounting on a dio.
