so our R2 is nearing the end, the build is getting really exciting and i for one cant wait to finish now!

one question on my mind is how much run time roughly can we expect to see from the batteries? i know there are lots of factors that can affect the run time, but roughly what are we looking at? 1hr? 4hrs? just a curiosity

Not fused really , I'd be happy with just the runtime being as long as a Death star normally survives !

Hi,
1 to 4 hours will be a disaster......
I hope more than 12 hours with a regular use.

each battery is rated as 3.7 V
depending on how they are wired that could mean a couple of possible final voltages but lets say it's 20 volt.

most of the electronics will not draw much power.
the main draw should be the motors for the wheels.

so i think we should get a good run time , just that the more you having him running around the faster it will drain the charge.

Run time is a reflection of what the mAh capacity of the battery is, also the surface the model is used on plus the use of any features and if you can control its speed etc.
The higher the mAh capacity, the longer the Charge time and Run time.

As i said, run time will be affected by lots of things. Lets say we get the 2600mah cells that are recommended, what rough average run time should we expect to see? Even mobile phone manufacturers can give us rough operating times of products. Was asking for an idea of what we can expect

I'll be very surprised if we get more than 2 hours
