Earlier in the year I was visiting family and whilst there someone arrived with a built up one of these.Now as a kid I had Lego and my own son had some early Lego Technics, but this truck seemed a world away from all that with its tipper working and crane moving.After finding out the price of such a set I winced and for a while forgot about it but eventually a reasonably priced one came up on ebay and it was mine. The set has 2793 parts in it which in 2015 when it was new made it the largest Technics set made. This allows you to build either of the trucks on the box artwork both of which have several operating features such as tipping cab,opening doors,extending outriggers, operating engine pistons,workingsuspension and extendable crane arm. I will be building both models but will start by building the articulated trailer model featured on the back of the box. First i had to download the instructions for this and then the build began.I started off on the engine and chassis and continued onto the front bumper and the cab area. The cab was then fitted to the frame and the wheels attached.The cab has opening doors and tilts forward to allow a view of the engine and the moving pistons. The orange beacons also rotate and like the pistons are connected by a series of meshed gears to allow this operation.`Work then begun on the rear of the trailer starting with the suspension. Have to say if you haven't tried one of these Technics sets they are quite fun to build  Al Spal attached the following image(s):

I got a big digger to do. Have you seen the unit and trailer with container on the back. It's a 2 in 1 so can do bin wagon. Looks the bees. But expensive. Chris On the bench 1/350 Revell Tirpitz Platinum Edition (Pontos PE and Wooden deck) plus extra Eduard PE set and extra MK1 door sets.

Some more of the trailer construction with the first pic showing the outriggers assembled and added to the suspension section.Then the main gearbox section and the support legs were constructed and then the two sections were joined before the motor and trailer deck added. This update has the crane assembled and fitted to the trailer and the pneumatics connected.The last couple of pics show the finished articulated truck option which concludes the first half of the build, now to dismantle it all and build the tipper truck option. Thought it was time to get the other half of this build done and get the Tipper version built.As you can see there is a sizable instruction manual with this, covering the 105 stages of the build and how to operate the various functions.
