Hey guys! So we're nearing the end of this amazing build (or even finished in some cases) and I'd just like to say I've loved it.
There's been a lot of negativity because of the app and battery issues, which is fair enough as it is very frustrating to spend 2 years on a project and then be told to wait a little longer.
However, even if it's a month away I know when I'm proudly showing off my R2 to anyone who comes to the house in years to come (whether they ask or not Woot) I won't be thinking about a couple of weeks uncertainty at the end of the build. I'll be thinking, well, I've got R2-D2 patrolling my house! And I built him myself! BigGrin
So with that in mind I'd like to say it's been a pleasure building, and following the various builds and discussions on this forum.
I'd also like to say a big thank you to the administrators for keeping this organised and being on hand to answer any technical questions throughout the build. And special thanks for putting up with our frustration over the last couple of weeks, and for trying to find out all the info for us, it's been very much appreciated!
So here's to an army of R2's roaming the streets in the weeks to come, followed merilly by us as we celebrate an amazing couple of years building the Droid we were definitely all looking for BigGrin

i will echo the sentiments here. i know i have been a difficult and sometimes seemingly aggressive customer, for that i sincerely apologize. i really do appreciate all the team here do to provide answers and solutions even though it sometimes hasn't felt that way. thank you for putting up with me for the last 2 years.

the build has been thoroughly enjoyable (especially this 2nd year) despite the few headaches along the way. i for one cant wait to get my droid up and running - it looks fantastic and has some truly impressive features, which is what drew me to want to do this build in the first place. so thank you all for everything.

i hope you all have a very merry Christmas and a happy new year!

It has been an exciting last few months.

I'm really happy with my R2.

A forum like this is just what we need, I know I have a few electrical glitches and members on here have helped to point me in the right direction to getting him 100% operational.

Here's to all the R2's in the world.

Thank you all

And thank you Deagostini for bringing this wonderful droid to us.
Darren

Have an AWSOME day and may the Force be with you always 😉

I have done models all my life , and have also been a fan of star wars since my dad took me to watch star wars in 1977 (yes I am an old git ).I did the millenium falcon and it was awesome .When R2 came out I just couldn't resist. He is an absolute corker of a model .After 4 years of falcon and r2 the only gripe has been the batteries and app.I just cant wait till my r2 is brought to life

I have to say I have throughly enjoyed the build. In the beginning the build seemed miles away. But looking back it has flown in and the quality of the build is as far as IAM concerned great quality. I can wait to see him come alive. Yes the app is delayed but I think it will be well worth the wait. Thanks to the admins on here for all your help in our queries. Keep the great work going.

Hi everybody
first at all i only can say it was i big fun building R2D2.BigGrin I myself only need the last three Issues. We did not had the luck to get R2D2 in a German version to Germany. But we were given the opportunity to order the UK Version as well. Some of the users are only in the middle of the build, others will finish the R2 in a few issues. For my part, I had a lot of fun building the R2. Now it's just a matter of time before he rolls through the rooms here. The same I wish to all off you who also had built the R2D2. May he give you all a lot of fun.BigGrin
