Great bit of info. And the addition of the book. I met John Nichol at an airshow in 2001 great guy.

Anyone thinking of entering the competition with a Gulf Tornado. Only one entry at the moment come and join in the competition for your chance to win great prizes.

Chris
On the bench

1/350 Revell Tirpitz Platinum Edition (Pontos PE and Wooden deck) plus extra Eduard PE set and extra MK1 door sets.

I will be entering this competition, having just purchased a kit and several upgrades.

1:32 scale appears to be a popular choice so far in this competition, but my build will be based on the smaller 1:48 scale using the Italeri IDS 'Black Panthers' kit and building it as a Tornado GR.4 using the 'Flightpath' detail and conversion set and also adding a few other bits. Scheme will be from the 'Xtradecal' sheet #XK48139 "Royal Air Force Update 2013-2014" and from which I'll be using the '617 Sqn Dambusters 70th Commemorative' markings (always liked that scheme!).

I will show photos of the kit and bits as soon as they have arrived and will be starting my build diary promptly after that - looking forward to it! Cool ThumpUp

Post Update. - Ooops! I've just noticed that Tony (birdaj2) has already entered with a build of the same aircraft in the same scale (but using the Revell GR.4 kit). Sorry Tony, didn't realise and I've bought the items now! Hope you're ok with that? Blushing

Some nice colourful schemes on that sheet, particularly like the 'Firebirds' scheme. I like the look of the F3, it looks more sleek and refined than the other types of Tornado - a bit like a thoroughbred race horse. Cool ThumpUp
