Can anybody please tell me the best way to get a curve out of a length of dowel. Thanks in advance.

Try heating it up with a heat gun, then while hot, roll the doweling as even as possible on a flat surface, it worked for mine a few years back, but now I just replace the doweling, much easier than trying to straighten it!

Not sure it will help, but I hope you get it sorted!

All the best
David

Thanks David. The piece that is curved is walnut and if I can't cure the curve I'm going to have to replace the whole mast.

I'll give your method a go anyway. Thanks again.

if that dosn't work, this is a bit more work, have a flat piece of wood with a slot cut down the middle just less then the diameter of the mast, then clamp it to the plank resting in the slot, then spray it with warm water, and leave to dry.it should dry straight.
