Pod landing pads are now ready to fit and I have started with one of the pods ready for lighting. The main pod bay is well under way, now sorting out the lighting for the consoles.BigGrin Cool

Coming on great there Nem!Cool I can remember from the film how everything appeared so pristine and clean, not like the 'used and abused' effects in Star Wars! You've done a great job of replicating that finish in the pod bay - keeping everything clean and white on a model is much harder than weathering!BigGrin

Lovely job!

Thank you Mark and Robin for your comments.Cool
I have set up a test of the lighting in the pod, it is a design of my own that seems to work and the next pod will be the one I use for outside the pod bay, the best one of the others will be used inside. The main console is now fitted in the pod bay and I have tested the lighting and I am happy with the outcome.BigGrin Cool

The suits have had their base colour and will be left to dry before a klear coat and then detailing, should be fun as they are tiny!Blink BigGrin The external pod has had the basic paint done, again a coat of klear and then detailing and lighting. the front spine is now in primer as is the dish array. I will be using the array as my test bed for highlighting and detailing. It will be klear coated and then I will apply dark washes to pick out the details before spraying very light coats of tamiya white until i get the desired effect. And if I don't like it I can klear coat and white prime again to try something else. BigGrin Cool

Pod bay is complete, just the centre pad and pod to fit. I have not gone the 'film' route, and used all 3 space suits in the pod bay, I paid for them therefore I will use them!!LOL BigGrin
Next step is the Discovery itself, paint and detailing.......I may be some time!LOL BigGrin Cool

Well I think I have found my way of detailing the main ship subtly!BigGrin . I the movie the ship was plain white and they used really bright lighting to show details with shadows. I have not got room or the sunglasses for that so I used a black wash followed by a misting of Tamiya flat white and then when dried a dry brush with gloss white. It still looks white but the detail pops a bit more without looking dirty.
