I wonder if anyone can help with a small problem regarding bees wax? I have been diligently using the wax to help with building of the rigging but I now notice that, despite what I thought had been a thorough job of rubbing the wax into the thread, there are a lot of whitish marks remaining. Any ideas on how I can remove this, or have I been applying too much wax? All help would be appreciated.

With beeswax you need to run the rigging thread through your fingers many times to warm it so to melts into the thread which stops the white looking thread. I normally only pull the thread through the block three times then roll the thread between fingers. I have used in the past a quick pass through a candle flame which de furs the thread aswell but there is an element of danger with it being a flame. It would be your own responsibility if you chose to do it this way. A hot air gun or hairdryer should also do the trick

Thank you Gents. I will try the hot hair dryer first I think. If you see flames coming from my house, I also tried the candle or cigarette lighter option!!
