Good afternoon,
As there have been a lot of posts here recently sharing the faults people have had with their droids, I thought I would write a short post about my experience. I subscribed to the build shortly after it started and have followed it for the 2 year period, building as the packs arrived. Throughout the process I have followed this forum for the official build and I have also followed Wayne Greens excellent video series too. All along everything has gone very smoothly with (touch wood) no parts issues. Today I completed issue 100 and fitted the Samsung 30Q batteries which I bought from 18650.uk ( a very reliable seller with fast delivery). Everything thing went smoothly and the power up sequence was completed with out errors the limited initial functions all operate as advertised. I now wait for the release of the iOS app so I can use the extended functions and enjoy my Droid.
Thanks to all the moderators here for providing an invaluable resource into "Building the R2D2"
Best Regards
Keith.

Great news! Pleased to see somebody else having success with their build.
I am too still waiting for the iOS app but have had great success with getting the android app installed and working fully on my partners Kindle Fire HD and having a great time with him!

It's great to hear people who get things working correctly, first time.
All too often we hear about problems, but rarely successes. Well done you guys. More success stories please.
Roy.

I finished the build yesterday when my final issues arrived, and had no problem with the start up or anything! Very pleased as was slightly nerve-wracking with the amount of wires to hook up, but the guide was nice and thorough. I've got an android phone so he's been running - rolling - all over the lounge, projecting and talking away. I'd like to add what I thought was an amazing touch for the last issue, and that was where the "In your next magazine" part would have been, there is a lovely tribute to Kenny Baker. Really made me think, I bet he'd love the idea of loads of R2-D2s roaming around
