Build completed but I have the same problem as many others here.
When powered on the self test does not complete.
The unit rolls forward and there is no movement of the dome. Also random flashing of the LCD lights.
Arms, lightsabre, projector, camera etc all work.
However ..................
When you plug the power supply in and switch on, the unit completes the self test and then goes into charging mode.
Does this suggest that the unit is not getting enough power under battery conditions?
I have the 18650.uk batteries, specs all checked and confirmed as OK in the forum and by many other users. So that may not be the problem.
Could it be the battery box itself is faulty?
Either way, I am convinced there is a power issue caused by something.
I have stripped the unit down three times and completed a complete re-wire so everything is in its place correctly.
Can DeAgostini think of any reason why the unit may be underpowered and what could cause it so I can start to fix it?
Regards
Jeff

Can you check that the battery's are making full contact with the battery box especially at the + end. Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Checked and double checked.

If you can get a multimeter and check the battery box has power coming out and what voltage it is. Mark

OK .. not being an electrician how do I test the voltage with a multimeter.
Do I need to unplug the power cable from the MCU and put the multimeter pins to the end of the power connector?
Explaining these things rather than just saying them would be most helpful.

Sorry Jeff If you have access to a multimeter, or someone you know with one who can test it for you, you can check the output of the battery box by unplugging the battery box from the mcu and testing the black ended battery cable. Using the prongs on the multimeter, connect them to the positive and negative terminals, this should give you the reading of the voltage output. Hope that helps

Hi Jeff Sorry for the delay in replying. That’s great you have the right amount of power from the battery box, which eliminates that. If you’ve checked all the cables are correctly seated and installed, it could be that there is no power getting through to the mcu. Call c/s and order a replacement mcu, issue 94. Regards Mark

Someone just queried if the output should be 24v i.e. 6 x 4v batteries.
I assumed 12v was correct but can you just clarify the correct output from the battery box is definately 12v not 24v?
Many thanks.

I checked mine before connecting the battery box to R2 and I had 12.3 as well. Regards Mark

Theyre in 3 pairs, so the pairs will double the capacity, and the 3 sets will tripple the voltage. So around 12v ish (depends on the charge of the cells) and if you have 3000mah cells, this will give a combined capacity of 6000mah Building: Ghostbusters Ecto-1, Ford GT40, Gone in 60 seconds Eleanor mustang, Shelby Cobra Complete: R2D2, Red Bull RB7 RC, Battleship Bismarck, Shelby GT500 'super snake'
