Fantastic news!! The app looks great. Strangely the link takes me to the app, but if i search for it i can't find it as it doesn't appear in the list. Yes can confirm its up and working. App is pretty good, camera quality is a bit poor but I expected that.
Just a shame how long it took and lack of communicatiom, does leave a sour taste in the mouth.

Just a reminder that the wifi password for connecting to r2 is 8 zeros (00000000) and not 6 zeros like the actual app suggests. Am I the only one to notice that when I tell r2 to play hologram 1 and hologram 2, it shows luke skywalker for both of them? I even hear a sound clip of princess leia while it shows luke! I thought this issue was going to solved much later on in the magazine yet its still showing 2 luke skywalkers?!

As for your projector issue, it might be worth starting a separate thread so the admin can properly advise you. The 8 zeros in the online user guide is what I used. I meant the apps tutorial tells you to enter the 8 zeros but chops the last two digits off the screen. As for the holograms, my battery charge ran out when attempting to play leia so that might of been the problem. I will try again when the batteries fully charged.

I am so pleased with the end result. Worth the wait. I had to borrow my nephews Android phone as I only have an iPhone. Can't wait for the iPhone app.

Firstly I would like to say what a fantastic build this was also the quality in my opinion is fantastic. Unfortunately after paying basically a grand and now its finished i cannot even do anything with it; as there is no IOS App. As somebody else has said 'leaves a bad taste in your mouth'. If i put the droid in 'Patrol' mode I may as well call it bump and hit anything you like mode. Really not good at all i'm afraid.
PS Obviously we need a scale version of C3PO to go with him, lol

Though I’m still a couple issues from completing R2. Got the iOS app and it has an excellent look and feel. I hope the same quality of the build and the app Ui extends into the interaction with R2 when he comes to life! Current Builds: R2D2, Millenium Falcon

iPhone app updated to v1.01 in App Store
It doesn't fix the head movement issue when controlled manually, still not smooth (Android version of App unaffected) - no further details on the app page as to what the *bug fixes* are

I would like to suggest an update to the app.
In manual mode, when we are controlling the R2 unit ourselves, it would be a wonderful addition to have the option of turning the sensors on, and to show the sensor feedback visually.
For example, if we had a visual marker for a 'proximity alert' in the shoulder sensors, or if the R2 could optionally stop movement if that would trigger a sensor alert, I believe it would be of enormous benefit to all of us users, and would correspond more to expectations.
As an iOS developer myself (and a programmer of 35 years' experience), this would be a very simple matter to accomplish in the app, and I think you would gain a great deal of 'brownie points' for it.

Unfortunately R2 is not going to be updated with anything beyond its intended design. The sensors are designed to be switched off in manual mode to make it easier to carry out tight manoeuvres as stated in the online user guide.

any chance of any form of update so that when r2 wanders off on its own accord the sensors will actually be active rather than it just driving forwards and crashing until you manually drag it away and finding it has either damages its self or what ever it crashed into? this is poor programming and a big thing that has been missed Building: Ghostbusters Ecto-1, Ford GT40, Gone in 60 seconds Eleanor mustang, Shelby Cobra Complete: R2D2, Red Bull RB7 RC, Battleship Bismarck, Shelby GT500 'super snake'

Look at his back light and you'll notice that it's blinking yellow/green when he charges off. Mine does that too as well. I read on here to disable "voice recognition". It works! There seems to be an issue with the app working on the newer versions of Android. I cannot get R2 to connect to anything running Android 9 or 10. I have a Pixel 2 running Android 10 and he will not connect directly or locally? Out of the 4 phones in my house running versions 5.1, 8, 9, and 10. Only versions 5.1 and 8 will connect. Phones that will connect: Motorola Moto X Android version 5.1, Galaxy S7 Android version 8. Phones that won't connect: Razer Phone 2 Android 9, Pixel 2 Android 10. Actually adding a volume control to the app would be great!
