Hiya gang!

Finished artoo yesterday. Had the following issues

1. Button 5 does nothing.
2. Button 3 actually changing connection mode.
3. Luke clip playing on projector from startup on a loop.
4. Nothing from logic LCDs.

Once connected via the app

4. Lightsaber ejector not working.
5. Only hologram audio, no change to the stuck looping Luke clip.
6. Still nothing from logic LCDs

Important to note at this point that patrol works and every other manual control. He steers around, the arms extend and he plays all the various sound effects.

Took all the various boards out and tested the ejector as per issue 53 and it was working as expected. Also tested the logic LCDs as before and they were also fine.

Connected all the components to the MCU etc. but outside of R2 body. Everything worked exactly as it should.

I put everything back into the body and had the same faults as before. I can't see anything that would be causing a short.

Why does it work on the bench but not inside the darn robot?

Any ideas?

Andrew.

1. Button 5 does nothing.
2. Button 3 actually changing connection mode.

Order a replacement switch set from C/S.

Double check your wiring and retest.

THE logic LCD's only work when in the app mode and must be switched on via the manual control button when using the app.

Check that the projector is seated correctly in its housing and the dome.

Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Thanks for the suggestions.

I started to do another systems check outside the body in order to rule out any possible wiring loom faults.

As I was working through I realised that there was a difference between assembled and disassembled.

I hadn't plugged the mic in during both checks as it didn't reach without complete removal. Lo and behold it works with it disconnected and as soon as it goes back in, all the issues reappear. The mic appears to be confusing the Orange Pi.

I'm going to get CS to send me a new mic to start with.

I'll post what happens when it arrives.

Cheers,

Andrew.
