A "Golden Caterpillar"club badge awarded to a Dutch RAF ace has sold for over £3000.

Flight Lieutenant Bram van der Stok received his badge when he bailed out of his Spitfire over northern France. He was also one of the few who made a home run in the "Great Escape" from Stalag Luft III.
