All done!

My last three issues finally rocked up today so spent some careful time working though them. Startup sequence was perfect, and I eventually got R2 paired for direct connection, thanks to Semaj!

All features and functions work perfectly via buttons and app, with hologram/sound excellent, and arms and sabre doing their thing too. Test driven it for a while and had some real fun. My only issue is the left left motor makes a grinding noise when R2 is turning etc. Does the same if I move my hand, so I'll need to order a replacement motor, but apart from that........R2 is a total success!!

Thanks for the staff and members posting up their suggestions and stuff and I'm sure reading those made me more careful with my own project!

All the best for 2019!

Oh....for info, the batteries I use on my R2 are these from 18650.uk, in case you are still wondering what to buy:

I'll do a short video tomorrow. Just ignore the farting sound he makes with the motor gearing.

Hi James.

This is quite an easy fix - remove the side of R2's battery box of the foot making the noise & check the white wheel with the black rim on the back of the motor - they work loose, and you'll probably find it will come off quite easily.

All you need to do is add a small amount of superglue to the center of that wheel and re-attach - leave for about a minute (or longer if you want).

Once everything is re-attached your problem should go away.

Cheers!

Darin

Definitely the wheel on the back of one of your motors has worked loose & making that noise!

Hi. Had less of an issue but same noise on left leg motor - it's worth checking as it's only 4 screws.

the flywheel seems to be only a push fit, so when R2's motors go full speed the flywheel continues to move when R2 stops. the little bit of superglue will help it remain on the (round) shaft
