BigGrin Just shows how stuffy and antiquated the BBC has become in my opinion, if they can consider axeing a very popular programme with worthwhile viewing figures in favour of Hillbilly TV!! Beggars belief and it's about time that the BBC came into the 21st century and dumped the licence fee in favour of advertising revenue to cover the costs of making progammes and that way they wouldn't have to consider crazy moves such as this. PROVIDED that they don't have Ad breaks during the live sports such as F1!!

Hated F1 on ITV with Ad breaks every 15 mins, which never seems to happen during a football match I might add, so what's the difference?? The BBC do a great job with F1 in my opinion and Jake Humphries is the best F1 presenter we've ever had. I think the BBC really need to think long and hard about the choice they might eventually make?? It really is a no-brainer if you ask me!! Blink Huh

You shouldn't forget that Chris Patton has stated that the BBC World Service needs to take priority over all other budget issues...we pay the licence fee but the rest of the world get the benefit...just about sums it up.. we are 2nd class citizens in our own country!!!
Sorry Sennamental...got to disagree with you on Jake Humphries...he is an idiot...talks about things he doesn't understand & keeps getting his facts wrong..the only good thing about him is the nippy little comments that Eddie Jordan gives when he does get things wrong!!Must say I like the combo of MB & DC in the commentary box & DC & EJ doing the pre race chat along with Jake...nice to have people that know what they are talking about from both driver & owners points of view....now if we could only get Murray back......

Personally I cannot see BBC getting rid of F1, if they did, I think it would be one of the biggest nails in their coffin, to be honest, it's the only time I watch BBC and no disrespect to anyone, but it was recently described as the old timers TV channel and the Single mothers soap fest, if your a racing or car fan, you should know who made these comments.

As for Murry Walker, although his comments didnt always come out right, due to the heat of the moment etc, he was a legend to most older F1 supporters, I used to enjoy listening to him, as for Eddie Jordan, well the guy gets on my nerves with his comments, but that's just my oppinion.

If BBC does get rid of F1, I wounder if who else would take it on, maybee have their own TV Channel Drool BigGrin

I thought F1 had to remain on Free to View? Well Sky will not be getting another penny out of me and what with the engine changes too, I'll be hanging up my gloves after this season.. Thanks for 30+ years of some of the worlds best racing and drivers on TV Bernie but you've sold us all out and hopefully you will live to see the day that you can look back to this point and admit it was the worst decision you have ever made...

(thats me watching for 30 years btw)

RidiculousCursing ,why didn't thy let another terrestrial network take it over.Confused
I will not be subscribing to sky sports as apart from F1 the only sport I watch is sailing so I point blank refuse to pay £20 month just for F1Angry ..& as it's no point watching half a season this will be my last season of watching..unless anything changes in he meantime.Mad
Hopefully the teams will kick up a fuss as surely the sponsors will not be happy at this move & will start pulling their backing away from the teams.Crying
Whatever happened to the concorde agreement that says it has to remain free to view?Bernie said only a few months agao that it will stay with the BBC...suppose there is some truth in that ..it is..well part of it is.
