I have finished building my R2 but when I fitted the charged batteries and tried to switch it on it doesnt postand the dome does not move.
I plugged in the power cable for a short time as instructed but the only thing that happens is the right foot motor starts turning and the red light circuit board flashes briefly.
The only way to stop the foot motor is to hold the power button (motor restarts as soon as button is released) or switch off underneath.
I have checked the wiring and all is correct.

The batteries I bought are 18650.uk/product/samsung-30q-button-top/

Any troubleshooting tips please?

When starting R2 for the first time, you attach the main power adapter and switch it on at the plug, do not switch R2 on. Unplug the mains adapter and at this point switch R2 on and press button 6. This is the process to configure new batteries and only needs to be done once, or when replacing with new batteries. If you switched on R2 with the power adapter in that might be the problem.

Hi Mark
Thanks for the quick reply.
I have reset the model by taking out the batteries then refitting them.
I re-initilaised the model using the procedure you described but the same symptoms are showing.

Can you check all the connection and make sure there are no bent pins and that they are all located firmly and the right way round.

The trouble shooting guide is here.

Thanks
I have checked the connectors and all are fully in with no bent pins.
i have read the troubleshooting guide but my R2 doesnt get as far as jerking forwards - the right motor just runs continuously.
i have checked tha batteries are in correctly & i have +12V on the connection to the switch.
there are no status lights lit on the dome.
disconnecting the dome made no difference nor did unplugging the MC cable but disconnecting the SC cable stopped the motor running although the R2 did not boot any further (R2 was switched off when cables were disconnected & only 1 cable was disconneted at a time then reconnected before the next test).
