I then fitted an eyelet as supplied with the part-works. A 0.55mm diameter hole had to be drilled 10mm from the top of the fairing as per the instructions. The attached photo shows the marking out for the hole being checked with vernier calipers. Good evening from 'The Dockyard'. More progress this week on the conning tower; fitting part-works supplied PE. The first job was to prepare the two sections of treadplate that make up the decking on the bridge. I had to remove a segment from the larger section so that it would fit within the modified shape of the bridge. More PE fitted; this time a foot rest made up of two curved sections, one with tread plate. Both sections were prepped, glued then filed to fit correctly. I also fabricated a small length of 0.5mm wide plastic strip to act as extra support underneath the foot rest.
