In the app, when I try the video control, all I see is a black screen, if I remove R2-D2's eye then I get a green screen, I've removed the cover from the camera, it's connected the right way up, has anyone else had this?

Have you.....

a) used the replacement eye lens piece that came in issue 97?

b) re-checked the connection / seating of the ribbon cable?

Also is the green image just a solid green colour, or can you see an image that is tinted green?

Hi, yep did use the replacement cover, it's just a solid green when the eye cover is off, I have removed the camera completely, checked its' the right way up but it can only go one way up really as the ribbon cable goes underneath it, the copper connections are face down on the board connection.

I'm sure you've already check this, and I haven't yet received the camera issue - but other PI camera boards I've purchased have had a little sticker covering the lens that needs to be peeled off.

There is a little tiny film that covers the small camera lens. You may also want to carefully re sit the ribbon cable that fits into the pi board. It may look okay, but if it’s only a fraction of a mm out, it won’t work.

I have peeled off the white bit that was covering the lens, I've re-seated the cable twice now, I can't really see that it can go in any other way but I'll re-check it, thanks all.

Order a replacement camera from c/s. The number can be found on the inside front cover of the magazine.
