Well I tried detailing the front section of spine with oil washes............it looked horrible!!Crying LOL So I decided to go with the Aztek Dummy mask set. I stripped the spine right back to the bare plastic, coat of white primer and then a coat over the whole model of dark grey. I will post pics of the masks going on and the procedure as I go.Cool

Fabulous work on the electronics Daran, the lighting effects look brilliant and totally realistic, well done mate! Cool ThumpUp

Well done too for starting again on the overall paintwork, a lot of people would have just accepted that it wasn't their best, but to strip it and start again is always the better option and I'm sure it will pay big dividends for you in the look of the finished model - top job! ThumpUp

Thanks for looking in and your comment Kev, yes sometimes its worth stripping and starting again rather then trying to cover it up or just making do.
On that note here is the command sphere in is various phases of masking and shading with the last pics of the blend coat to tie it all together. Once it was dried I flatted back with a really soft cloth and then Klear coated.Cool

Hi Al and thanks for looking in and your comment.
Command sphere is now finished, just the wiring to tidy up when I come to assemble the rest of the build. Lights tested and I am happy with the outcome for my first attempt at lighting a kit.BigGrin Cool

Hard to believe this is your first go at lighting ,the interior is amazing.
Man he took his time in the sun
Had a dream to understand
A single grain of sand
He gave birth to poetry
But one day will cease to be
Greet the last light of the library...We were here!

Looking good Daran and your pre-shading enhances the look of the top paint nicely, really gives depth to all of those details along the spine.

Good job, nicely done. ThumpUp
