Hi there, I have finished the build and everything seems to be working great except when r2 is in patrol mode he will bump into something like the sofa and stay there trying to drive forward. His central foot sensor works fine so if you click it he will reverse a bit and turn but when he goes forward again he doesn't sense a large object in his way.

Did the tests on the leg sensors go ok and have you double checked the conections to all the sensors.

Also has the room got lots of furniture in it.

Yeah did the checks and they were working fine. There isn't a lot of furniture in the room. He has alot of space to roam, but doesn't stop when he comes to a sofa where his central foot doesn't hit something. He just keeps trying to go forward until you have to stop him.

Yeah I've checked the connectors on both legs are connected to the correct sockets on the board and both are seated well. The cable running from the sensor board to the motherboard is also in correctly.

Right then, I've disassembled the r2 tested both leg sensors and they are both working great. Now that I've reassembled him, when I switched him on his left leg is dead and he doesn't do the head left and right test at the beginning. I can also hear a constant clicking noise!!

Sounds like a bad connection somewhere if things no longer work as before so double check that your conections are seated correctly.

I've just tried removing all the connections and reconnecting them, and have got the same result.

That was quick, you need to double check for bent pins and that the pins are inserted into the plugs correctly.

I have now completely dismantled him, checked for bent pins and checked all the connections. Put him back together and he was the same. So I swooped his leg motor connection around to check his leg motor was ok and he sprang to life all working except he went backwards when I pressed forwards so I swooped the plugs back and everything started to work fine so far. One of the wires on the leg motor connector must not have been making the correct contact. He still seems to bump into things but I'm not going to push my luck and do anything about that.

Good to hear your making progress with your R2. You could try switching off R2's voice control via the app to stop the wandering as this has been mentioned as a cure by others to cure this.
