Hi all
Sorry if I am posting in the wrong place, I am new to all of this!
I have just completed the build and R2-D2 runs with no issues I can see other than I cannot get him to connect to local WiFi . When I follow the instructions in the user manual I press button 5 for local WiFi mode, but the green lamp flashes fast, not solid, which shows in the discri-tion as local WiFi made but no connection to the router? When I press button 4 to pair and show him the QR code the blue lamp flashes slowly not fast like it says in the manual. Whatever I do R2-D2 doesn’t read the code and doesn’t connect to the wifi?
The instructions do not show any information for slow flashing blue light? I do not know what to do next, can I reset the sequence to try again, there are no further details on what to do if this fails?
R2-D2 connects in direct mode, and I can perform every action, including video etc.
Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Hi try doing the QR code part in a semi darkened room. Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

if you have a dual band router (such as skys latest device, virgin hub3 etc) and modern device that supports dual band (and more importantly 5ghz frequency)(such as samsung s8 onwards, iphone 9 onwards etc), you will have to manually log onto your router settings, switch off the 5ghz frequency and make sure its is only broadcasting 2.4ghz. then you will have to re connect your device to the new router frequency and then you can try again with r2. once the r2 connection to the 2.4ghz is set up you should be ok to switch the 5ghz back on in your router settings. r2 can only connect to your router on the 2.4ghz frequency, and if your device is connected to the 5ghz band r2 will never connect. hth Building:

Hi both
Showing R2 the QR code in the dark worked a treat! It appears that the blue pairing light does not need to be flashing quickly, it works with the blue light flashing slowly, R2 then chirps and the blue light flashes quickly to confirm the QR code has read correctly. Now connected no problems!
