Here are the problems I’ve discovered, some are similar to what others have reported:

1. It seems that when R2 has voice control enabled he will respond to background noise and start up, moving randomly. I believe that he is mistakenly responding to what he ‘thinks’ is the “patrol” command.

2. Voice control is very very poor, and R2 will only very occasionally respond to my commands - I am quite ‘well spoken’ and speak clearly to him without any background noise. I have to practically shout directly into his microphone to get a reaction and even then there is often a long delay.

3. Like many others the dome motor moves too fast, smashing into the end stops. I have requested a replacement motor from customer services but they have just sent me another copy of the user guide (which I had already followed thoroughly as well as disassembling and re-checking all connectors)

4. Face recognition works to some extent (ie he bleeps when he sees me) but he does not follow my position as described in the guide no matter how slowly I move.

5. Whilst the shoulder sensors appear to work if I test them, they don’t work very well. R2 will constantly crash into things and continue to try to move. He has now snapped off one of his arms after randomly extending them in patrol mode and smashing into my sofa. Also there is a blind spot for any objects that fall within the two shoulder sensors (eg table legs).

6. The camera image is very very poor, with a resolution that looks like a webcam from 20 years ago, even in daylight. The image of the camera view in the user guide has clearly been ‘enhanced’ and is not a representation of the real thing - very misleading!

Regarding point #1, voice control can be disabled in the app to avoid this.

Regarding point #3, the replacement dome motor should resolve this.

Overall, your points have been passed to DeAgostini., See post #3 here: https://forum.model-spac...spx?g=posts&t=30247
