Hi Karl Not necessarily, I may construct a diarama with the Endeavour and Longboat, what building the AL longboat will give me is options, if the long boat that comes with the Eaglemoss build is not credible then I have the well detailed AL model to take its place, either way its good fun MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

the reasion for deiting is different sites for the same model give different scales ,and at 420 mm long taken the bow spit is one thired, the boat must be around 280mm long the main deck of the model endeavour is 220mm long where the boat fits and the endeavour scale is 1/48 dose not compute with me

I agree willie, couldn't get my head round it,1/50 scale is close to 1/48 so that tells me that the longbout should be about 6" where in fact it is 16 3/4" long?????? Current builds: SotS, USS Consitution, San Felipe, D51 loco, HMS Surprise, RB7, Arab Dhow, Jotika HMS Victory Completed builds: HMS Pickel, Thermopylae, Mississipi river boat, Mary Rose, Cutty Sark, San Francisco II, HMS Victory x5, Titanic Lifeboat, Panart HMS Victory Launch, Hachette Titanic, Virginia Schooner, Endeavour Longboat. http://www.model-space.com/gb/

Today I received issue 27, it contained another pack of Hull planking strips (20) this has now given us 60 strips, and we start planking from issue 28 HAPPY DAYS!!!!!!!!!!! The work this week involved building the hideous cannon, I have decided to source a new barrel and build my own carriage. Over the last 2 weeks I have carried out a great deal of research on the 4 pound cannon of this time scale, which is also helping me with my Victory build. MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

Hello MWG, Great job with the balsa woood, yes you will have lot's of sanding I found that with the Victory, but it is worth it just for that better finsh.I do agree with you on that cannon, it look's like a chrismas cracker gift, and I do agree with you about re-making the carriage, the one in my mag does look sad. Regards tf64. Work in progress: Tombstone (Scratch) - San Francisco 2. -The Mayflower ( scratch by plan).
