Hi,
Completed my build recently, and getting little joy in getting started.
At first, after waking batteries etc., a single press of the power button did nothing, whereas holding the button would activate blue lights in the feet, and the multi coloured LCD on the back of the dome. These would go off again on releasing the button. After some experimentation, I discovered that disconnecting the cables going from the mcu to the dome pcb now meant a single press of the power button would cause R2d2 to jerk forward correctly, turn his head correctly, and the red light to come on correctly. Everything but make the noise. It would then stay in stage 2 of startup (fast blue flash), and go no further. Reconnecting the dome pcb sent us back to the original issue. Seems to me like a problem with the dome pcb, would you agree? If so, is there anything that can be done with the one I have, or do I need to order a replacement?
Thanks

Hi What batterys are you using and can you provide a link from where you bought them from. Also can you confirm if you got your issues by subscription or newsagent. Can you also double check all your cables are correctly labeled and inserted into the boards. You may just have a faulty cable from the MSU to the dome so replace this first if you have the same problem after checking the conections. Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

I'm confident the batteries are ok. I don't have means to test for voltage or anything. I got every issue by subscription. How would I go about replacing just this cable?
Thanks.

Have checked connections several times.

I would still like to see what your batterys are to eliminate them from the list of known problems so could you provide a link to them. As you got your issues from a newsagent you should ask him to reorder the issue that contains the part you need. Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Same batteries as everyone else. I'm not sure how to place a link on here. I'm certain they're fine. Can we assume that they are. I didnt get any issues from a newsagent, I had a subscription from issue one, like I said. Please don't tell me I have to fork out more money? £10 for an issue and all the accompanying parts, when I only need one cable, which could've been faulty on supply????

On the inside of page one of the magazine you will find the C/S number if you ring this number and ask for a free replacement of the issue you need. Your batterys are low on the continuous discharge rate but above 3 amps so may be ok. Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Thanks, I'll call.
Surely it would've been easier if deagostini just included the batteries???? Then everyone would be guaranteed the correct ones. I'm sure the £999 would've covered 6 batteries.

Also, do you have the means to identify which issue has that particular cable, I can't trace it? Should I try a replacement dome pcb first? I'm wondering if the sensitive pcb is more likely to be faulty? Should I get replacements for both maybe?
Thanks.

Thanks. The cables you need are in issue 100 before we start ordering multiple parts lets make sure specific parts are working first. As I can not see your R2 in person its a case of elimination. Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Ok, thanks for the help. So do think I should go for the cable first then?
