The first thing to check is to make sure the batteries are making good contact in the battery box. If you have access or you can borrow a volt meter, unplug the battery box and check the voltage from the larger black ended cable which has a positive and negative terminal. If all okay you should get 12.3v reading.
Thoroughly check all cables are correctly located and making good contact.

Here is the troubleshooting guide to help.

Yes just post in this thread, as it is your troubleshooting topic. The tops of the batteries you have from what I can see in the link you’ve provided are vented ones. Some people have had issues with this type as some do not make a good contact in the battery box, not saying yours don’t, which is why I would like you to check there first.

Mark

The batteries are fully charged and I’m getting 12.3v across the corners of the battery box but nothing coming through the power lead, do u think I need a new battery box? If yes how do I go about ordering?

Order a replacement battery box from c/s. The number is on the inside front cover of the magazine.

Hi
Can you tell me exactly what is happening, when you say nothing, is there any lights on the dome. Just that I’m not in front of your R2, so just trying to go through a process of elimination.
Also have you done the correct startup procedure as instructed in the user guide, as you now have a new battery box and that will need to be primed. The link for the user guide is below if you need it.

Also check all cables are corrected positioned and pushed in fully. If you can attach a small video of you staring him up, that would help.

At least you’ve got the right voltage coming through. The next step would be to order a replacement MCU that came in issue 94. Just make sure all the cables are firmly in the right place and the right way round when you get it.

You will also have to do the start up procedure again with the new board.

ok i will try that, is their any reason why so many of the main parts are faulty, all the other posts with problems need another MCU?

Compared to how many kits have been sold, the number of faulty boards is probably very small - within normal tolerances of a large production, I would have thought from the proportion here.

As to why it's usually the MCU as opposed to other parts, think of the complexity of production. Making a motor, or a button, or even a projector, is vastly simpler than building an entire computer on a board, which is what the MCU is.
