I’m at the stage of constructing the visible cannons, but I’m stumped by the cascabel rings- there seems to be no good way of mounting them properly. How did everyone else deal with that? cheers- Scott (sorry for image link, will edit from computer to show properly!

On mine I drilled a small hole which took its time and installed the ring. Or you could solder them on. Chris On the bench 1/350 Revell Tirpitz Platinum Edition (Pontos PE and Wooden deck) plus extra Eduard PE set and extra MK1 door sets.

Well, that's a good use for the Dremel drill press! Did you make a jig to hold them at the right angle?

No they were free hand but would recommend making a jig. Chris On the bench 1/350 Revell Tirpitz Platinum Edition (Pontos PE and Wooden deck) plus extra Eduard PE set and extra MK1 door sets.

Comparing first soldering attempt vs just tying them in an overhand knot slipped over the cascabel. A problem with soldering will be removing the solder that flowed too far and restoring brass finish (I don’t want to paint).

The only way is a little touch up of brass paint. You wouldn't notice it really. Chris On the bench 1/350 Revell Tirpitz Platinum Edition (Pontos PE and Wooden deck) plus extra Eduard PE set and extra MK1 door sets.
