All completed and a lovely looking beastie it is.
I did go a bit overboard with the details and interior but I'm a Jag nut and wanted it with a bit extra.
In fact, I was so impressed with this kit that another one is going to be built in Primrose yellow with a red interior.
This one the green car here - was my 'learning' car so the next one will hopefully be better.
For interests sake, here's a brief list of the extra's I put into the build...
First, I altered the engine block shape, and angled the cylinder head sides.
Made my own engine front end - timing cover, water pump etc.
Made my own alternator and starter motor with wiring.
Made my own coil and added low tension leads.
Added linkages etc to carb setup.
Added brake and clutch pipes to the fluid reservoirs as well as wiring. Altered the tops as they were back to front.
Fabric covered wiring loom added to engine bay, tons of added relays and wiring.
Scratch made new heater valve.
Added heater controls to the fan unit under the bonnet.
Different scratch made battery with wiring, scratch main relay box with wiring.
Air intake tubes added to the filter unit.
Umpteen added engine decals.
Scratch most of the radiator. Added temp sensors to header tank and manifold.
Camshaft rev sensor and wiring added.
Every engine part and and part under the bonnet repainted.
Interior...
Totally new seats.
All interior trimmed in real leather - seats, trans tunnel, door panels, door sills, door pulls, rear luggage floor, rear hatch inner panel - all screws and 'bumps' removed, covered in leather.
Carpets added, headlining added. Leather trimmed whole dash, lined the cubby box, new dash gauges and bezels.
GREAT fun...
