The Falcon is a great kit Steve with lots of satisfied and happy customers out there that have completed their builds. It comes pre-painted but you can of course enhance the paint detail should you wish to but again many have built without any enhancements of any kind and still produced a great display piece. Cool Cool .. Take a good look through some of the build diaries, I don't think you'll be disappointed....

I built the Falcon as received and am perfectly happy with the result. How much extra you do (if any) depends on the results you are after. Either way I am sure you would enjoy the build.

Hi Steve

This is an excellent kit, check out the custom build I did on this. Mostly bush painting was done and I’ve put a how to do it in there as well. So many build diaries on here to learn from and many great results, all of which have put their own mark on it.

Cheers

The DeAgostini Falcon has been the most enjoyable build of my 40+ years of model building. Never used an airbrush before, and bought one just for this build. Realistically the airbrush work made up around 1% of the total paintwork, as I went the oil paint rub method. Again I had’nt even tried this oil paint method either before, so everything was a first for me. Plenty of time to test out different methods. To top it all off the Falcon won a couple of prizes at the recent State titles. Very happy and worth every cent.

Good to hear Steve, don't think you'll be disappointed with the build or the finished display item. Look forward to seeing your progress....

Just an aside, I also have never used an airbrush, but bought myself one for about £30 and a compressor for about £50 and after some your tube videos and painting a cheaper model, its actually really easy to pick up.. and the quality of the finish will mean you will rarely use a brush again unless you really really need to.

Best of luck with your falcon, its an amazing build, I have also just started. I have a build diary and some ideas to make the build 'my own' in some areas which I will share a little later.

I have been away from model making for over 2 decades, but its good to be back

Hello Steve,

I have been working on the MF for a couple months and ordered the X-wing about a month ago.
