Hi,
This is the beginning of my story building thr Vasa and looking forward to any suggestion that may help me if Iget stuck.
I am following Gandale’s instructions to the letter and so far it’s been great.
I finished the Sovereign of the seas last year and will post a few shots of the finished job.

Lovely work on your Sovereign, she looks amazing so well done on completing this one.

First thing I'd recommend is for you to resize your pictures prior to posting onto the forum. Recommended size should be 650x480 pixels, 150kb and saved as a JPG, not a JPEG. This way the pics will appear on the forum and members won't have to download individual pics in order to view.

Looks like you're off to a good start with the Vasa and its great to see another Vasa build on the forum. She's a lovely kit and if you enjoyed the SOTS then I'm sure you'll enjoy the Vasa. My only concern looking at your pics would be the lack of a build jig to keep everything straight and true, at least until you get the first few rows of planking in place. Alignment for this build is so important otherwise problems are likely when it comes to fitting the upper decks. It is also very easy during the early planking phase to induce a twist into the hull and that would be such a shame considering the good work you've done to date.

Well done, I look forward to following your progress all the way and good luck with the build....Cool Cool

Regards

Alan

Thank you Alan for your comments.
I will resize the photo’s for the next post.
In regards to the jig I found it very hard to find one here down under and to get the ideal jig as shown in the vasa post is to expensive for the mail cost.

Hi Eddie,

A build jig doesn't have to be expensive, you can make one yourself for very little cost. Look at the first post here, shows you how to make one with simply a straight piece of wood and a few right angled brackets....

Hope this helps....

Hi Eddie,

The file size appears to be fine and within limits however, I think your problems is with the file format. Your files are set as 'JPEG' and should be saved as a 'JPG'. Would also change the file name to something shorter.

Are you able to transfer your pics to a laptop and upload from there?

As for your build, looks to be progressing nicely and I look forward to seeing more of your progress....Cool Cool

Regards

Alan

Hi Eddie,

Nice painting of the decoration, well done....

You pic is way to large for it to show on your post, it needs to be a maximum size of 150kb.
