WOW that was a lot of filling and sanding. I lost a lot of the planking definition in the lower hull but i did not have much choice. It is not as good as the other builds I have been following. I hoping for what you call a 5-10 it looks great from 5 to 10 feet away.. FightingWillie attached the following image(s):

The latest update on the HMS Victory completed stage 44. I have gotten the rear gallery , wales , stem supports head deck and cut out in the wales so I can install the decorative pieces later . I am going to stop here to copper plate the hull and I have a few questions. I have seen video showing people using CA glue but I have read that I should use contact cement, which is better? CA is straight forward, but contact cement I have never used before. My biggest concerns with contact cement is do you have to remove old contact cement before you start a new build session on the model and the tiles that you have already coated with cement? You have moved on very well with this one. Its really looking the part. When i ever get to doing mine i will be using one of the "flexible" superglues. Contact adhesive depending on what you buy can be awkward as it has a tendancy to string when being used. You can get non stringing gel versions and here is an ebay item code that might be of interest 271816733975. Code for a point of interest and not an endorsement of the seller by the way. If you look up non dtring contact adhesive there are a number of brands but some come in tins that would last a lifetime and beyond. I am sure you will get some other views on what people have used but for me it will be the superglue route as that seems a little more previse to me. Tony Happy Modelling

It has been a while since I updated my build. I have working on the copper tile on and off all summer. It looking OK, but gluing those tile on was tedious and the glue made mess . Although now I am on to stage 45 and I get to touch wood again

Here is an update , I have completed the main and fore mast. I am going to jump around a bit and not follow the instructions. I want to complete the mizzen mast and all the yards before going back to the hull. I don't quite like the way the wales came out around were the wiggles will be installed. Looking goog You really appreciate the size of the Model once you start fitting the masts. I also made the masts, yards & bowsprit at the same time. Kind regards, Garth "Measure twice, cut once!!!" Finished!!! HMS Victory, Current build: Black Pearl. On hold: Bismarck, Golden Hind, Flying Scotsman, Victory Cross Section, SOTS, Tiger 1. Wish list: USS Constitution.
