Hello.

So I just finished my R2-D2 and the only issue I had (at the time) was that the lightsabre ejector is not working. When I try to activate the lightsabre r2 makes the noise confirming he acknowledges the command but it seems like the motor doesn't do anything even though it was fine when testing.

I took the head off to see if it was maybe a loose connection but it all looks good. When I put the head back on r2's head now goes more to the right than staying in the middle. When doing the startup calibration he doesn't even finish moving his head to the left before it jerks back to the right. It didn't do this before until I took the head off. I have tried removing the head and placing it back in the middle but it still goes too far to the right. It's not like I could just turn his head to the middle when switched on because every time he does a command his head jerks back to the right so if I want to film anything while r2 is moving I will only be able to see what's on his right side. It also doesn't help that I have OCD and seeing r2 shake his head while looking to his right irritates me.
Are there any fixes? It would be much appreciated as he is a great little droid and would love to have him in 100% working condition.
Thanks.

Hi Fearless Hunter. Your issues with the light sabre and now the head are being referred to the appropriate sources to get some technical input.

Been almost a week and still heard nothing. Not surprising though as I've had to contact you guys multiple times about stuff and didn't have good experiences.

might be worth you checking the head motor. remove it, take the cover off that we fitted and you will see a little white wheel with a black band. this is basically a stepper motor, and somewhere very close to the wheel there will be a little black block. this basically s'sees' how far the motor is moving in any given direction and how fast. firstly check the wheel its self is tight on the spindle - they have been known to come loose. if it is loose put a very small drop of glue onto the shaft to glue the wheel to the shaft. if this doesnt correct the issue push the tiny little black block a bit closer to the wheel (not touching though) i am pretty sure this will be your issue

Hi Fearless Hunter. I hope the following helps with the light sabre. The suggestion is to order a new Pack 66 from CS and replace the motor and the PCB board 1 that come in that pack. Regarding the second part of your problem, more technical input is being sought regarding the issues you are now experiencing with R2's head.

and how do you suggest he gets hold of the issue with replacement motor for the ightsaber that comes in pack 37 iirc? it shows out of stock on the website and you are told the same when contacting CS on the phone number? it took me 3 months of complaining to get it to fix my r2 which now works fine.

Know the feeling semaj
I once had to get the right leg sent back due to the wire having a rip in it but thanks to the screw plugs I was unable to simply open it up and replace the wire. They took the right leg and all the issues numbers that I sent to them, didn't hear anything for 2 months and when they sent it back issue 2 was missing. I asked them where it was and they simply went "oh it's out of stock". So they didn't even bother telling me that it wasn't in stock and they didn't send it along with the rest. Luckily I found issue 2 for £5 on eBay but it's still disgraceful.
