The guard rail is split in two; upper and lower halves. I decided to build up the lower half first as this section will also have gauze attached. The attached photo shows the 0.8mm diameter brass tube cut into 10mm lengths that will make up the vertical rails for the lower section. To make up the horizontal rails i used Albion Alloys 'Connecto' which is bought in pack form and contains PE of different shapes. Each 'leg' of these shapes slides into the corresponding brass tube; in this case the 0.8mm diameter tube has an internal diameter of 0.6mm and the PE shapes have a width of 0.6mm. You can buy differing sizes that fit into the corresponding brass tube and all sorts of shapes can be made up using this clever product. By carefully bending the brass tube using brass rod slid inside to prevent crimping, i formed the correct curve and cut it into two lengths. From another angle. I'm pretty pleased with the way it's gone so far, albeit fiddly, which is good as making the guard rails for the lower deck and upper deck will take awhile! Phil That albion alloys connector set looks very useful. Seen it on their site but this is the first i have seen with it being used. Gives a very neat finish to your guard rails. But most of all impressed with your tube bending skills - must be taking some skill to get all those curves on the rails just how you want. Hope it continues well. Tony Happy Modelling
