While looking an other very interest topic here, suggesting Deagostini avoid mixing static models with electronic functions, I though about it.

It would be very interesting for many customers to release a new pure robotic partwork.

In the past Deagostini released some very interesting robotic partworks, like "Build and Program your own Robot" in 2003 with cooperation with parallax, which released in Italy and Greece, I-Droid 01 in 2006 which released on Italy, Spain and Belgium, Robozak in 2008 which released in Italy and Japan in 2008 and also Robi and Robi 2 wich released in japan in 2013 and 2018 (the first is available through modelspace as well).

In UK, the only pure robotic partwork is the Eaglemoss Ultimate Real Robots back in 2002. Also in 2015 the same company tested the "Build Miro the biomimetic robot" partwork, but abandoned the project.

R2D2 is indeed in the "robot" category technically, but not as a robot kit for programmers/developers and robotic hobbyists like the Ultimate Real Robots or Miro the Biomimetic Robot is.

I think it is the right time to get a new programmable robotic platform from Deagostini. A biomimetic robot would be an excellent idea.
