Very shortly I'm going to jump in at the deep end and try to convert the DeAg Jag to a roadster.
I've been planning it in my head for some time and I'm almost ready to take a resin casting of a roadster rear end I've made.
It will mean sawing the roof and tail off the Jag shell - part 85 - and grafting my rear part onto it.
Who knows - ?

I've done several Revell 1/8 E Type roadster conversions in the past but not anything in metal.
The DeAg body is 'almost' the same as the Revell one but I won't know if my part will marry up to the chopped DeAg shell until I chop one down and try.
Also, I'll need to look into ways of ensuring my resin tail end takes no stress or weight as the DeAg car is incredibly heavy.

I've converted a good few Revell coupes in the past to roadsters but I was always wondering why DeAg never did the E Type as a drop-top.
I thought it would be interesting to see if it's actually possible.
There are a lot of construction issues, such as the inner wheel arches, mounting the chassis/floor at the back, getting the doors to fit, rear bumpers, exhaust etc etc...
It will be fun to see if it can be made to work.

 The overall surface produced looks good and could take paint with minimum prep as for tweeks I presume thats to minimise the amount of excess moulding material. From my experience leaving a bit on to be removed in prep is better than trying to cast a master everytime. Apart from that nicely done and looking good. Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Yes, the tweaks I mentioned are just to get a better and more even layer of resin overall as the part is slush cast, so the inner surface isn't smooth like the outside.
Also, on this one, I tried adding a layer of thin matting to the main rear deck area for strength but it created some small air pockets which means in places, the outer skin is very thin.
Mind you, as I said, this was a first attempt.
I'm also going to try using a different resin to see if I can get a more even slush.
