Mick, Kev, thanks for looking in and for your comments, appreciated.... @Kev, the repetitive and tedious parts of the build are not too bad for me. I simply look at the build stage and break it down, such as doing perhaps 10 gun port lids then move on to doing some of the painting on castings before doing some more gun port lids and so on. The tedious parts is all part of model ship building and is something I have gotten used to and still enjoy..... Regards Alan

Stage 99 Contents: Decorations, Hinges and Wooden Dowels.
Retrieve the PE fret containing the hinges. You can choose whether to blacken the hinges using a blackening solution or to paint them metallic black (RAL 5011), I chose to paint them. Once dried, gently file the raised parts of the hinges to remove the paint, exposing the metal underneath.
Recover one of the gun port doors from stage 98 and glue two hinges onto the outside of the door, positioning them 2mm in from the sides. Repeat the process on all the gun port doors.
From the 2mm dowels supplied with this stage, cut 54 pieces each of 20mm in length. Store the gun port doors and dowel sections in a stage labelled bag.
Remove any burrs or flash from the decorations supplied with this stage. Apply a coat of metal primer and leave to dry.
Follow the painting guide provided within the instructions to paint the decorations. When dry, carefully store the decorations in a bag labelled with this stage number.
This stage is now complete.Gandale attached the following image(s):

Alan That looks very good. For your gun port hinge pins have you used nails with the heads cut off or have you used pieces of brass rod. They look very neat. Think looking at the pictures again i answered my own "silly" question. I can see now from on of the pictures that had not loaded that the pins are molded into the etch hinge strap. It had looked like you had put pins in the hinges to hold them to the port lids. Either way looks good. Tony Happy Modelling
