I assume you are using Zero paints? What kind of primer do you use. I finally got some ordered (well in theory since it was backordered but they told me it would be coming back soon), but I am not sure which primer to use.

Hi Kev The instructions are all in Japanese and the only colour flagged for the seats is semi gloss black on them, but thanks for the heads up. Thanks for looking in and your comments. Its the same with the wheel knock offs there supplied as chromed parts but they were colored red and blue as each side had a different thread and were colored to prevent cross threading. Hi Carl The black undercoat used here is Mig-Ammo's one shot acrylic as an indicator to show any blemishes, most of this will disappear tomorrow with the final rub down. the inside will be sprayed with Alclad so needs to be black. Any good spirit based undercoat will be fine for Zero, they do do there own as all paint producers do, just make sure its prepped correctly and the Zero will go on fine. The enemy of Zero paints is dust/fluff so do a good clean down and wear a good mask against the fumes. The bodyshell was inspected and any clean up done then a coat of white undercoat went on and was left to dry. Once dry two coats of Zero metallic blue went on. Once dry the decals will go on. arpurchase attached the following image(s): Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Kev the Modeller wrote:Nicely sprayed and a beautiful colour Andy. Is that the same blue that you used on your MFH Cobra build? It really suits the GT40!!
Kev Thanks for looking in and your comments Kev. The blue is Zero paints equivalent to Tamiya,s metallic blue the Cobra was done with a different blue but there not far off from each other colour wise. Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Firstly make sure you have a good face mask when spraying Zero paints the fumes are not good for you lungs.
I usually spray it with light coats building up the colour until there's an even coat. Airbrush splatter can be rubbed back if your unlucky enough to get some as can runs from a too wet application. But for the most part it sprays fine and you can put decals straight onto the paint once its dry.
All Zero paints will need a clearcote I use there Diamond 2 pack on cars. Just remember to put a mist coat over the decals then leave for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes put on your 1st wet coat then leave for another 10 minutes and then another final wet coat and leave to dry.
